In the neighbourhood of "Het Zwin" you will find the Butterfly Garden, which is also worth visiting. In this green-house hundreds of colourful exotic butterflies are fluttering from flower to flower amidst a collection of tropical plants.
For a moment you imagine yourself in a virgin forest and a butterfly may come to take a rest on your shoulder.
With some luck you may be witness of a butterfly emerging from its pupa and spreading its wings for the first time.
When entering the Butterfly Garden, don't overclothe. The butterflies and plants require high temperatures and a tropical atmosphere.
The Butterfly Garden opens from the Easter holidays up to and including the 1st weekend in October, every day from 10.00 am till 5.30 pm.
Guided walks also on application.
Both the Zwin and the Butterfly Garden offer the opportunity to consume your own packed lunch.
